Dear Binzen Family,

My cousin and Bill's cousin, Ruth, sent me your letter and the obituary. I am so sorry to hear Bill passed away. I have many fond memories of my Aunt Lucy and Uncle Bill and my three cousins. We spent a lot of time together as children, but unfortunately, as we grew older, we all went our separate ways and didn't keep in touch. I will pass this on to my brothers and sister. My thoughts are with you all.

Dearest Saz and family,

My deepest sympathies for your beloved dad.  My thoughts are with you and upon reading his obituary it made me think of his jokes and laughs.  I won't forget spending Thanksgiving in Connecticut and his black and white pictures of us all dressed up.  His 4 seasons pictures accompany me everywhere and he will always be remembered fondly for being a great person who spread love and laughter!

With love, Tania and family

I will always remember Bill's twinkly eyes and gentle manner. As a little girl I always loved Bill and I remember once being reproached by him for being bad and how ashamed and awful I felt at that moment because I had disappointed sweet Bill... I will always treasure my memories of growing up together with the Binzens and Rory. I have my books which I will share with my son Gabriele, and Bill's gifts will keep on giving.
Lots of love to all of you, Lisa

Bill was such a strong supporter of our organization and for that we are truly grateful.  Bill's keen insights and evocative images made him a pleasure to work with. Bill's generosity to the Litchfield Hills Visitors Bureau  helped us immeasurably to brand our beautiful Litchfield Hills as his photography captured the area's sublime natural beauty.  We will miss Bill.  Our heartfelt sympathy goes to his wife and children and their families.

Susanna and family,
I was so very sorry to hear of your father's passing. I have many fond memories of him and time spent with you all on Britton Hill. I feel fortunate to have a photo he took  of the the gingerbread houses. It will continue to be something I treasure. Losing someone so special is never easy however your father touched so many lives and I believe made us each better in doing so. I will be thinking of you all in the coming days.   My deepest sympathies.

It has been a few years since I saw you, but I want to offer my condolences with respect and affection for your family.   I remember Bill best joking and telling stories sitting in the (famously photographed) rocking chairs on the porch at the Keith family homestead in Sutton.  My best to all the Binzen clan!

Dear Gaile and Family,

Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you.  We really enjoyed having Bill as part of our drumming group on Tuesday nights.  He will always be remembered for his contributions to 'the beat'.  We look forward to you joining us again Gaile when you are ready.  Peace and  Love to All ~ <3

Dear Gaile and family,

What a full and rich life Bill lived.  I know how you will miss him, but we're all grateful that he made so much of himself visible through art.  He was a great pal when this (then) young photographer moved to Millerton in the mid-seventies; his curiosity and energy made him a treat to be with.

I'll go to my own reward with the vivid memory of sitting outside in Salisbury at dusk, gazing at the sky, and hearing his tale about seeing a UFO.  From others this might be just fancy, but he reminded me of his aviation expertise and documented with great precision what he had seen and heard.  He had that combination of the extraordinary and the down to earth.  I believed him, utterly.

I'm very sorry that Sam and I couldn't be in Salisbury today to share in what must have been a lovely memorial to a most memorable man.

With affection and fond thoughts,
Rebecca Busselle

In the short time I worked with this lovely gentleman, I learned of his interesting work and accomplishments throughout his life.  Bill was an extraordinary person. I am sorry for your loss.

I was a subject in three of Bill's shoots for Parents magazine as a young tweenager and remember how comfortable and confident he made me feel. I always enjoyed seeing him around town and admiring his work.  I'm glad to have known him and will celebrate his life by remembering him often.
